- Hi all!
- About three months ago, I bought a Motorola 3400 Online modem. There have been a few problems,
- and I would appreciate it, if anyone could help me solve them. So, here it goes:
-
- 1) When I d/l a file I get alot of errors (Bad Data Packet, Bad CRC, etc). That drops the
- efficiency right down to 1000 cps and even less at times. When d/l-ing from Netscape, I get
- speeds up to 2.8-3.0K/sec. But when I try to d/l using an FTP client (I have a PPP connection)
- the files are downloaded corrupted.( Usually, they are larger than they should be, by about
- 1-2kb)
-
- 2) When I enter the ATZ command the modem won't dial after it. It will only return OK to the ATDT
- command. In order to dial, I have to enter the AT&F and then any other commands (except ATZ)
-
- 3) I can't redial a number unless more than a minute has passed from the previous attempt. I have
- found no way to disable this 'feature', but I 've seen a 3400 Pro with a SW REV 3 that does not
- do that.
-
- 4) I have a SW REV 1. How can I update it? Do I have to send it back???
-
- 5) And finally, what is the US name of 3400 Pro/Online?
-
- Well, that's all.
- Please e-mail any answers to tdoyiako@brad.ac.uk
- Thanks in advance.
